KARACHI, Oct 13: Musharraf Shaikh excelled with a good all-round show as National Gymkhana eased to a 74-run win against Sark CC in the Mehdi Hasan Memorial KCCA Inter-club cricket tournament at the Pak Star Ground here on Friday.
Batting first, National Gymkhana piled up 287-8 in their stipulated 45 overs with Musharraf contributing 73 that included seven boundaries. Abrar Warsi struck four fours in his knock of 64, while Abdur Rehman hit exactly 50 with six boundaries.
Off-spinner Shahrukh Asim and slow left-armer Taimur Adil each returned identical figures of three for 51.
Sark CC, in reply, were all out for 210. Medium-pacer Usman Khalil claimed three for 33 and Musharraf chipping in with two for 38 with his slow left-armers.
In another match played at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Hamdam CC annihilated OK Sports by 174 runs.
After opting to bat first, Hamdam CC amassed 315-6 in their 45 overs. Mohammad Fahad blasted a fine 86 with the aid of 10 boundaries and a brace of sixes, Haziquddin bludgeoned five fours and three sixes in an undefeated 64, while Zeeshan Haider made 44.
OK Sports managed a paltry 141 before being sent packing inside 27 overs with slow left-armer Allah Rakha taking three wickets for just 12 runs.
