KARACHI: Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) champions Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) continued their fine form on Saturday as they defeated Karachi Port Trust (KPT) 3-1 on Saturday.

At the Railways Football Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan international midfielder Mahmood Khan struck a brace to help KRL climb up to second in the PPFT table on 25 points, two points behind leaders Karachi Electric Supply Company.

The game sparked into life in the second-half after a goalless first session as Mahmood struck the opener in the 52nd before KRL’s in-form striker Kaleemullah scored in the 64th to double their advantage.

Mahmood completed his double four minutes later as KPT could only reduce the arrears in the final minute of the game when Mohammad Bin Younus scored.

Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) secured a last-gasp 1-0 victory over Wohaib FC at Lahore’s UMT Football Ground after Atif scored in the 90th minute to take his side’s points tally to 13.—Sports Reporter
