SARGODHA, Oct 9: Sajid Shaheed police claim to have arrested six employees of a cellular company for facilitating people in getting SIMs on bogus documentation.

The police said they raided the company regional office on Stadium Road and arrested Khurram Mehdi Awan, Rizwanul Haq Ansari, Imran Sheikh, Imran Sadiq Masih, Faisal Sultan Awan and Hamza Javed Kamboh.

They recovered 500 SIMs sold on bogus documents, Rs350,000 in cash and fake record.Investigations are on to find out from where the employees got the documents showing identity and addresses of citizen of Sargodha. The police registered a case under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Electronics Transaction Ordinance.

A number of subscribers had been complaining against maladministration at the company regional office which was transferring activated numbers to any person of their choice without serving any notice or giving any intimation to the subscriber concerned.

EMBEZZLEMENT: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Tuesday registered a case against two officials including food inspector of the Sial Morr centre for embezzling wheat worth Rs3.6 million.

Shahbaz Khan in collaboration with Saifullah misappropriated wheat. Deputy Director Food Syed Arif Shah has terminated from service Shahbaz and asked him to deposit Rs2.9 million and Saifullah (Rs1.9 million).

The ACE registered a case against both employees on the report of the district food controller.

In another case, an ACE team arrested patwari Rabnawaz for taking Rs5,000 from Awan Abbas.
