LAHORE, Oct 8: Two goals each by Qadeer Ashfaq, Ali Malik and Mir Shoaib Ahmad helped Valvoline Motor Oil beat Vogue Furniture 6 ½-4 on the opening day of the Adisseo Polo Cup 2012 here on Monday.

Qadeer and Ali hit one goal each in the first chukker for the winners, who had a half-goal handicap. But Zaigham Abbas struck a field goal for the losers to reduce the lead 1-2 ½.

Qadeer and Ali were again on the target in the second chukker to help their side take a firm 4 ½-1 lead.

Shoaib then fired in back-to-back goals before Taimur Nawaz Khan scored twice and Samir Malik added another to reduce Valvoline’s margin of victory.

In the second match, Faisal Shahzad scored a hat-trick as Technimen outclassed Adisseo 8-3.
