MNA’s uncle offers apology to PPP

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: Former National Assembly member of the PPP, Mumtaz Taman, on Tuesday condemned the decision of his nephew, Faiz Taman, of joining the People’s Party Patriots and voting for Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali in violation of party discipline.

“My head hangs in shame over the decision of my nephew and I apologize to the party for supporting him in the election,” Mumtaz Taman told a press conference at the PPP office.

He said he was embarrassed over Faiz Taman’s decision, whom he had introduced in politics and supported in the election from his home constituency.

Sardar Mumtaz, who did not fulfil the condition of educational qualification to contest the election, had introduced his nephew in his place.

Faiz Taman had joined the PPP after returning to the National Assembly as an independent candidate but he voted for Jamali in the vote of confidence on Monday.
