KARACHI, Oct 2: At least 30 illegally built structures were demolished on Tuesday to clear the way of Lyari Expressway during an anti-encroachment operation. Karachi Commissioner Roshan Ali Sheikh was informed in a meeting held at his office that the anti-encroachment team faced strong resistance from people in Liaquatabad in the beginning but they cooperated with the team after they were told that the government would allot alternative plots to them along with some cash in compensation.—PPI
