Clean up Hayatabad

Published September 28, 2012

I WOULD like to draw the attention of the Director-General, Peshawar Development Authority, to the cleaning and maintenance arrangements of Hayatabad Township.

I have been living in this town since 1985 and feel that the services’ standard is becoming the worst.

All roadsides, footpaths, markets, parks and even fronts of medicine shops are always full of dirt. It seems that there is no system of cleaning.

Civil contractors working for the PDA or private houses have destroyed all roads as their trucks spread gravel all over creating problems for the motorists.

Solid waste is being lifted through donkey carts which also make roads even dirtier. Besides, from Phase 3 Chowk up to the public bus stand the main historical Shershah Sori Road is full of solid waste.

I have seen the same dirt lying for weeks. No one bothers to move it out in a professional way. These are small doable things for the welfare of the residents of Hayatabad.

The residents feel that the DG should visit the roads, parks, etc, to monitor the cleaning and progress, otherwise all these services should be outsourced.
