MIRAMSHAH: Six people were killed and two others inured in a  US drone attack in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal region near  Afghan border on Monday.

Sources said the drone fired a missile on a house in the Degyan area  of Dattakhel which caught fire. Local people retrieved six bodies from the  burnt-out house. Names of the deceased could not be ascertained  till late in night.

Security officials, however, said the attack had killed five militants,  adds AFP.

The strike targeted a compound known as a bastion of the Taliban and  Al Qaeda. The drone fired two missiles, they said.

“The area has sanctuaries for all groups of Taliban and foreign  militants,” an official said.
