PESHAWAR, Dec 29: Provincial Agriculture Minister Qari Mehmood has summoned a meeting here on Thursday to take stock of the problems faced by the farming community and adopt remedial measures for resolving them accordingly.

The meeting, besides representatives of farmers and authorities of concerned departments, would also be attended by Provincial Food Minister Fazal Rabbani as well as members of national and provincial assemblies of Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Buner, Mansehra and Malakand Agency.

The step has been taken after a heated debate in the NWFP Assembly on a call attention notice about the problems of tobacco growers of the province.

The officials of the Pakistan Tobacco Board, the PTC, the Lakson Tobacco Company, the Chamber of Commerce, the Kisan Board, the Anjuman-i-Kashtkaran and other related organizations have been invited to attend the meeting.—APP
