LALAMUSA: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Sunday said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had not taken a U-turn on the Swiss letter while the Supreme Court had also asked for seeking a midway to resolve the matter.

Talking to media persons here, the minister said that the court had also assured to take care of the federation's concern, thus hinting a way out. “We have also responded in positive,” he added.

Responding to a question about former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, Kaira said that the PPP respected the sacrifice rendered by Gilani.

He said that Gilani was an asset for the PPP and he had run the coalition government with vision, ability and commitment. He said that Gilani had served the party in a difficult time and his services would long be remembered.

Referring to the joining of PML-N by brothers of PPP leader Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul, Kaira said that the PPP was like an ocean and it would have no effect if any individual leaves or joins it.

“Anyone who parts ways with the party will suffer the dent. Nawabzada Ghazanfar Gul has also said that the act by his relatives will not affect his loyalty to the party and that he will remain with the party,” Kaira said.
