MINGORA, Sept 22: The court of additional sessions judge on Saturday accepted bail application of 10 of 11 accused in Manglore swara case and issued directives for their release on bail. However, the judge rejected the bail of SHO, who had been arrested for pressuring the victim family and favouring the influential family.

All the accused had filed appeal in the court of additional sessions judge after civil judge-cum-Ilaqa qazi Mohammad Ishaq rejected their bail application on Thursday and set Sept 22 for hearing. Those set free on bail included Mian Sher Ali, Barkat Ali, Luqman Shah, Khan Rehman, Khan Sher, Taj Mohammad, Rozi Khan, Jan Bkaht, Shamsher Ali and Abbas.

According to police the accused had been arrested under Section 310-A and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Soon after their arrest, the accused were presented before court of duty magistrate who sent them on judicial remand. They were languishing in jail despite out of court settlement between both the parties. The jirga members had been arrested for ordering marriage of a 13-year-old girl to an aged man Taj Mohammad.

The jirga took the decision to settle a dispute between the two families in remote Beshbund locality of Manglawar. —Correspondent
