Firing on ASI’s house, 8 held

LARKANA, Dec 28: The Waggan police picked up eight suspects on Saturday after firing on the house of ASI Ghulam Qadir Jatoi on Friday night.

A gang of unidentified men opened fire on the house of the ASI in the Thariri Hashim village. However, nobody was injured.

The police arrived on the spot after the villagers had retaliated against the attack and compelled the attackers to escape.

Later, the brother of the ASI lodged an FIR against two absconding criminals, Zulfiqar Mirbahar and Mumtaz Mirbahar, and six unidentified attackers.

The police said that it was third incident of firing on the house of the ISI, against whom some criminals bore a grudge.

PPP: The leaders of the People’s Party Pakistan, have criticized the induction of Ishratul Ibad as the Sindh governor, “against whom many criminal cases had been registered”.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, PPP MNA Mohammed Anwar Bhutto, MPA Ayaz Soomro, Larkana district PPP president Nawab Shabbir Ahmed Chandio and others termed the appointment of the governor an insult to the people of Sindh.
