TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 28: The two-decade old enmity between MNA Amjad Warraich of Gojra and former MNA Ilyas Jat of Faisalabad took another life on Friday night.

Amjad Warraich’s bodyguard Malik Abid was on his way in Gojra when Ilyas Jat group’s Abid Shah of Sargodha and his two accomplices shot and killed him on the spot.

Gojra city police have registered a case.

About two dozen people of both the Jat and Warraich groups had so far been killed. Ilyas Jat had left his native Chak 364-JB (Gojra) and settled in Mauza Dhandra near Faisalabad. He had contested election on the PPP ticket and became MNA. He could not take part in October election due to graduation condition. His son-in-law Dr Nisar Ahmad contested election and returned on the PPP ticket. At present, he is a member of the PPP (Patriot).
