LONDON, Sept 17: Juventus and Olympique Marseille extended their perfect records in Serie A and Ligue 1 respectively with league victories on Sunday.

Italian champions Juve came from behind to beat Genoa 3-1 after two late goals from Mirko Vucinic and Kwadwo Asamoah sent them back to the top of the table. Ciro Immobile had given Genoa the lead before Emanuele Giaccherini struck the equaliser.

Napoli, Lazio and Sampdoria also won to maintain their 100 percent records after three matches.

Brazilian Hernanes scored two outstanding goals before a second-half effort from Miroslav Klose to lead Lazio to a 3-1 win at Chievo, Napoli continued their promising start with a 3-1 home win over Parma and newly-promoted Sampdoria beat Pescara 3-2.

Juve, Napoli and Lazio have nine while Sampdoria have eight after having one deducted over the Calcioscommesse match-fixing scandal.

Meanwhile, Roma gave up a two-goal advantage to lose 3-2 to Bologna and Inter Milan won 2-0 at promoted Torino.

In France, Marseille won 1-0 at Nancy to stay top of Ligue 1 and extend their best ever league start to five consecutive wins with Jordan Ayew scoring with a second-half header.

Marseille stayed two points ahead of Olympique Lyon who beat Ajaccio 2-0 thanks to goals in each half by Dejan Lovren and Lisandro Lopez.

Alain Traore’s splendid double earned nine-man FC Lorient a 2-1 win at 10-man Rennes in a card-strewn Brittany derby as they climbed to third on 11 points.

Goals were aplenty in Spain with Atletico Madrid beating Rayo Vallecano 4-3 to continue their unbeaten start in La Liga.

Mario Suarez, Koke, Arda Turan and Radamel Falcao got the goals for Atletico before they lost focus towards the end and allowing Andrija Delibasic to score twice and Leo to add another a minute from time.

Fernando Llorente played for Athletic Bilbao for the first time this season and added a goal to Aritz Aduriz’s double to help secure a 3-3 draw at 10-man Espanyol.

In the German Bundesliga, Rafael van der Vaart was unable to inspire Hamburger SV on his return as Eintracht Frankfurt beat his side 3-2 to move joint top of the league with Bayern Munich and make it three wins out of three.—Agencies
