KARACHI, Sept 14: Rallies and protest demonstrations were held in different parts of the province on Friday against a hate film containing anti-Islam content, its makers and patrons.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) blocked the video clip placed on the World Wide Web through the YouTube website.

In Karachi the largest protest rally against the video clip was organised by the Jamaat-i-Islami.

The participants in protest rally marched from the Jamia mosque Alfalah in North Nazimabad to the Matric board office.

Speaking to the participants in the rally, JI chief Syed Munawwar Hasan said that the self-proclaimed “civilised powers” were hurting sentiments of the Muslims across the globe by such nefarious and blasphemous acts.

He said that these provocative actions were resulting in massive protests against the perpetrators of such acts and raising hatred against the US and other Western powers.

Describing such incidents as “a religious terrorism of the West”, he said that Muslims could never tolerate such shock tactics.

He said that a reaction to the blasphemous video clip was being witnessed in Libya, Egypt and other parts of the world.

He demanded that the Pakistani government expel the US ambassador in protest against the video clip. —PPI
