ISLAMABAD, Dec 27: The federal minister for Kashmir affairs and water & power, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, has assured a two-member delegation of Northern Areas Legislative Council(NALC) of his support for the development of the area.

The NALC delegation comprising Rehmat Khaliq and Haji Amir Jan of Diamer district called on the minister here on Friday. The delegation apprised the minister of the problems of their area and showed their satisfaction over the ongoing relief operations for the quake-hit people.

The delegation demanded more constitutional rights for NALC and said royalty receipts from forests should be spent for the development of the area. The legislators invited Mr Sherpao to visit Diamer district, especially Darel and Tangir valleys.
