KARACHI, Sept 11: Karachi-A won the NBP Sindh Inter-Region U-16 Hockey Championship by beating Hyderabad 4-2 in the final played at the Hockey Club of Pakistan here on Tuesday.

Karachi-A made themselves comfortable by getting ahead through Taha Raza (18th min), Ehtashamuddin (31st min), Sohail Abbas Jr (32nd min) and Ali Khan (41st min).

And only then did Hyderabad wake up to score two goals. Ali Asad scored in the 58th minute and Mohammad Ashraf in the 67th minute.

The match was supervised by umpires Akhlaq Bukhari (Nawabshah) and Mumtaz Ali (Larkana).

Later, NBP’s Executive Vice President Zaheer Baig, the chief guest on the occasion, said that the championship was to remain part of their annual calendar.
