Speeding up work on projects

ISLAMABAD, Sept 4: Almost 80 per cent development work of sector I-16 and Shah Allah Ditta Project has been completed and within two months Prime Minister or Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari will inaugurate the projects.

It was stated by Senator Kulsoom Parveen, while chairing the sub-committee of the Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurances on Tuesday.

The Committee was briefed that in sector I-16, 99 per cent work on power supply has been completed. Grid station, electric polls and 5 out of 44 transformers have been installed.

Director Land of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that over all area of sector I-16 is 80,000 kanals and most of the land is in CDA’s control.

However 1,200 feet of service road west has to be vacated from encroachers.

“We have been doing negotiations with encroachers and land will be vacated within 4 weeks and as soon as land will be vacated, road will be constructed,” he assured.

General Manager of Sui Northern Gas Pipe Line informed the committee that CDA has provided Rs93.17 million to provide gas in the sector and 80 per cent work has been completed.
