RAWALPINDI: A teenage girl was allegedly raped by her close relative, while another abducted girl belonging to the Hindu community was recovered within 24 hours by police on Tuesday.

A resident of Mandra told the police that his youngest daughter, aged 14, lived with her grandmother and that his brother-in-law also lived there. He accused his brother-in-law of sexually abusing his daughter for the last three months, which led to her pregnancy.

He further said that his daughter informed her stepmother, after which a case was registered with the police. The accused is yet to be arrested.

Meanwhile, another 15-year-old girl belonging to the Hindu community, who was abducted while visiting Murree, was safely recovered within 24 hours from Haripur on Tuesday.

Shortly after the incident was reported to the police, special teams under the supervision of senior officers were formed to recover the hostage. The Murree Police Station safely recovered the kidnapped girl by utilising all resources, including CCTV, geo-fencing and human intelligence, the Murree DPO said.

The rescued girl will be presented in court, fulfilling legal requirements, the DPO added.
