KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed the hope that the PPP and MQM would soon finalise their deliberations for conducting local bodies’ elections in the province.

A meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leadership was held here at the Bilawal House on Monday with President Asif Ali Zardari in the chair.

The coalition partners discussed various issues regarding the Local Government System for Sindh and the law and order situation in the province during the meeting.

President Asif Ali Zardari said that the fragile law and order situation in Karachi demanded of all political forces to work together for ensuring peace in the metropolis and bringing the culprits to book.

He said that the political forces should augment efforts of the law enforcing agencies in maintaining peace in Karachi.

President Zardari, while underlining the need for the two coalition partners to work hand in hand for peace in the province and strengthening of the political process, said that the PPP believes in following the policy of reconciliation and taking along all its allied parties in matters of national importance.

He said that ensuring complete law and order and the protection of lives and property of the citizens was the government’s priority and that no compromise shall be made in this regard.

Those who were present during Monday’s meeting included, among others, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Dr Asim Hussain, Dr Farooq Sattar, Senator Babar Khan Ghouri, Pir Mazharul Haq, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Rafique Engineer, Rashid Hussain Rabbani, MNA Abdul Qadir Patel, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Muhammad Kanwar Naveed and Raza Haroon.

Even our worst enemies could not have done what this pathetic excuse of a government has done to Pakistan. And Zardari still has the audacity to claim that this present coalition of the corrupt will win the next election. God help us.

Zardari has been good at playing delaying tactics on each major issue and thus has prolonged his rule over the country .His focus is blurred on main issues of the country He has been playing dirty politics with all his coalition partners in the name of reconciliation which has become meaningless and the public know it. They do not seem to have any concerns about the killings in Karachi ,how can they solve this problem as all three partners in Sindh are a party to these killings. There is not a single day past when there are no head lines of killings and murders The police have no intention of taking this issue up seriously because all three partners are using criminal elements to kill the innocent people men ,women and children.Pir Pagaro i was right when he said yesterday in Lahore in a statement that if the right police force is deployed then he did not see any problem of controlling these murders in Karachi and this will stop within two weeks..they cash on his support but he has different ideas as he openly said the arrangement of cooperation with PPP was during his late father's days and he himself would not be binding on this arrangement. As we all know he has been trying to unite all factions of Muslim league whether he would be successful or not it is a matter time. There is no sign of this govrnment's writ to be visibleany where.he has made enemies and people will love to see the back of him and his government earlier the better as longer he stays it will cause irrepairable damage. We do not see reconciliation in the society either but we see a divided society worse than ever before. But will there be general election in the next year or so as people seem to have doubts.
