LAHORE, Aug 29: The Milli Yakjehti Council has decided to expand its administrative structure down to provincial and district level to unite the masses “for setting right the direction of state institutions”.

This was stated by council president and Jamaat-i-Islami former Amir Qazi Husain Ahmed after a five-hour session of 26 constituent religious parties here on Wednesday.

He said although the forum would not be an alternate to the Defa-i-Pakistan Council and the defunct Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), it would use political pressure too for accomplishing its agenda in the light of the Objectives Resolution.

He said an Ulema convention would be held in Islamabad before Muharram under the banner of the MYC.

It may be mentioned the defunct MMA was formed at the MYC platform.
