KARACHI, Aug 28: Three suspected criminals were gunned down by police in an encounter in a Malir locality on Tuesday, the police claimed. None of the policemen were hurt in the alleged shootout.

The police said the encounter took place in Ghazi Goth, Malir, within the remit of the Malir City police station, where the SHO of the police station with his party motioned three suspects riding a motorcycle to stop, but instead they opened fire on the police and tried to escape.

The police party chased and gunned down all the three riders, the police said.

The suspects were later identified as Fida aka Fiddu, Khalil Baloch and Inam aka Bali.

The police claimed to have seized two AK-47 rifles and a repeater gun from the possession of the suspects.

They said Fida was wanted by the police in murder cases of policemen and lawyer son and father.
