KHAIRPUR, Aug 27: Khairpur police claimed to have busted four gangs of criminals in a planned operation.

SSP Khairpur Irfan Baloch told reporters on Monday that SHO Faiz Mohammad and a police party led by the DSP city had carried out a search operation in Katcha area of the district and arrested notorious criminals, including Shahan alias Shahoo Narejo, involved in many cases of robbery, kidnapping and motor bike snatching.

The outlaw carried head money of Rs1 million.

The SSP said a gang of criminals had opened fire on a team of Kumb police which was on their routine patrolling. Police returned fire and injured one dacoit Mukhtiar.

Faiz Ganj police during search and patrolling had arrested criminal Qadiro Shar and his accomplice Manthar Chang, the officer said.

Both the arrested outlaws are accused of snatching a government SMG from sub-inspector Ali Sher Shaikh from Kot Lalu area a few months ago.

Economic Zone police arrested a criminal, Zahid Phulpoto, and his accomplice Jinsar. Zahid Phulpoto is involved in cases of robbery, bike snatching and theft.
