GUJRANWALA, Aug 26: A man was killed and an onlooker injured on Sunday in crossfire between two rival groups in village Thathdad, police said.

Muhammad Shahbaz died while Nasarullah was injured when Pervaiz and Shahbaz groups traded fire. Nasrullah was shifted to the Gujranwala District Headquarters hospital. Cantonment police have registered a case.

BAN: The Gujranwala City District Government has banned boats in canales and rivers and directed Rescue 1122 official to use boats in rescue services.

Assistant Commissioner and focal person for flood control Fayyaz Ahmad Mohal told Dawn the government had already banned on swimming in canals under section 144. He said boats had been banned in canals and rivers due to increase in water level there.
