LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 25: Unidentified armed men killed a police constable when he resisted their attempt to snatch his motorcycle near Dhoda village late Friday night.

Police said on Saturday that incident took place in area between Dhoda and Mastikhel villages in the jurisdiction of Lakki Marwat police station. They said that constable Kiramatullah, resident of Chunai Mastikhel village, and his cousin Sharifullah were returning from Dhoda village on his motorcycle when they were stopped by unknown armed men.

They said that the armed men opened fire on them when Kiramatullah resisted their attempt to deprive him of his motorcycle. As a result, Kiramatullah was seriously injured and died on way to Lakki city hospital. The armed men escaped taking away the motorcycle with them.

Lakki police have started investigation after registering the case.

Meanwhile, unknown burglars broke into a house in Kotka Sattar village near Lakki city on Friday night and deprived the inmates of cash, police said. They said according to family the thieves entered the house of one Aziz Ahmad by making a hole in the outer wall of a room.—Correspondent
