KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has declared district Tharparkar a calamity-hit area.

An official statement said that a recommendation to this effect was made by the Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon.

It said that Memon had called on the chief minister and apprised him in detail about his constituency- Tharparkar.

He informed the chief minister Shah that Tharparkar was facing drought this year in view of no rains.

The minister said that because of this the people were moving to other districts in search of fodder for their cattle.

He stated that in view of such a situation, the chief minister declared district Tharparkar as a calamity-hit area.
