ISLAMABAD, Aug 17: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan on Friday briefed Prime Minster Raja Pervez Ashraf over the security of the capital and step taken to avoid any untoward incident in the wake of terrorist attack at Kamra Air Base.

According to the handout issued here, IGP Khan briefed Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PMs House about various steps taken by the police to ensure foolproof security.

He said extra security measures had been taken to facilitate citizens of Islamabad on one hand and increase vigilance to pre-empt any untoward activity by any anti-social elements on the other.

The prime minister directed the IGP to be vigilant and increase level of coordination among various departments of police force to get better results. He said no compromise shall be made on the safety and security of the citizens. The sources said the prime minister was informed about threats by militants for sensitive installations.—Staff Reporter
