Tribute to Miandad

Published August 15, 2012

SOUTH African batsman Graeme Smith scored a century against England in his 100th Test match to become the seventh player to achieve this feat. Two Pakistani batsmen are also in this list: Javed Miandad and Inazamamul Haq. However, Miandad has the finest record as he scored centuries in his first, 50th and 100th Test matches.

Miandad is also among those players whose average has never gone below 50 in a Test match cricket. His record against the West Indies was not good as he averaged a mere 29.78, but he still won many matches.

He was one the finest batsmen Pakistan has produced. Respect for Miandad and congratulations to Smith.
