Emergency ward at hospital soon

Published December 22, 2002

KOHAT, Dec 21: The family planning department will set up an emergency ward in the old Zanana Hospital building to facilitate the residents of the city.

The announcement to this effect was made by Sheikh Faqir, project director of the family planning department at a media workshop held at town hall on Friday.

He said that an NGO, Rokhano Kor, had promised to provide funds for the construction of a 10-bed hospital, run it for five years, before handing it over to the health department.

The hospital would provide 24-hour service.

It may be recalled that last year, the government had converted the huge Zanana Hospital building into a girls’ degree college and shifted the hospital to a new building in KDA.

The new emergency ward would be constructed in a small portion of the girls college, he informed.
