PESHAWAR, Dec 21: Imparting proper education and training to special children and orphans was the collective responsibility of the government, NGOs and the society to enable them to play their due role.

This was stated by Peshawar Nazim Azam Afridi while speaking at an Eid Milan party held for orphans and blind children here at Kids Montessori and School, Gulbahar Colony.

He said the district government was concentrating on the promotion of education which could be gauged from the fact that six girls degree colleges had been opened in a short span. Moreover, the city district college had also started functioning at the corporation building.

The district Nazim said that approval for establishment of girls degree colleges at Hayatabad and Nahqi had also been granted by the district government.

He said that the district government had taken a number of measures to address the problems of the institutions of disabled people.

Their funds had also been increased to a considerable level, he added.

Gifts were also distributed among the disabled children by the Kids Montessori and Pak Welfare Organization on the occasion.
