TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 20: The furniture being provided to the government schools by the district government is of poor- quality and the staff is being forced to accept it.

This was alleged on Friday by Chak 163-GB lumberdar Muhammad Afzal and other villagers.

They told newsmen that substandard wood was used in the manufacture of desks and benches.

They claimed that millions of rupees had been embezzled in the deal.

They demanded an inquiry into the matter and punishment for the officials responsible for causing loss to the public exchequer.

Saima, 15, was admonished by her parents over some domestic issue. She took poison. She was admitted to the Gojra THQ Hospital but died a few hours after arrival.
