TIMERGARA, Aug 2: Awami National Party’s central secretary information Senator Zahid Khan on Thursday asked Lower Dir administration to ensure inauguration of heavy transformer at Saddo Timergara grid station within a day or two to resolve voltage problem in the area.

Talking to media persons, the ANP leader claimed that heavy transformer for the grid had been approved with his efforts and now the PPP local lawmakers had been claiming it to be their achievement.

Senator Khan said that he would have no objection if the government official like DCO or federal minister for water and power inaugurated the installation.

“But provincial minister Mahmood Zeb Khan and state minister Malik Azmat Khan have no right to inaugurate the project pursued by me,” he said and added that it was a longstanding demand of people of Dir to upgrade the grid station.

On the other hand, the PPP-affiliated state minister for inter-provincial coordination Malik Azmat Khan has already announced that he had got approval for the transformer for the Saddo grid. Speaking at party meetings in the district, the PPP minister had been saying that he would inaugurate installation of the transformer.

The installation of heavy transformer would help improve power voltage in Timergara, Maidan and Samar Bagh areas.

“The district administration should immediately inaugurate and run the project to resolve low voltage problem,” Senator Khan said. The ANP leader said that he would not hesitate to inaugurate it on Saturday or Sunday next if the district administration failed to do so.
