KARACHI, Dec 20: Pakistan’s First Women’s Leadership Forum — a full-day workshop for businesswomen and entrepreneurs — organized by World-Wide Group on Friday at Sindh Governor House here was “an instant success” with large turnout of women.

The forum offered numerous opportunities on a neutral platform facilitating change and supporting women in business. It provided entrepreneur women to present and discuss business cases, proposals and goals, as well as availability of technology to support their respective businesses.

Sindh Governor Muhammedmian Soomro, Governor State Bank Dr Ishrat Husain, President First Women’s Bank Ms Zarina Aziz and former information minister Javed Jabbar were keynote speakers at the event.

The participants included high officials, business professionals from private sector, executives from donor organizations and successful businesswomen of the country all supporting the cause of women.

The aim of the forum was to provide hope and support to women entrepreneurs in the country helping them to reach higher levels of success, observed Ms Salma Abbasi, chairperson, Women in Technology (WIT), Ministry of Information Technology and president World-Wide Group, a consortium of international companies focussing on communication technology, e-business, e-education and professional consultancy.—PPI
