KOHAT, July 31: The police on Tuesday registered cases against a female doctor and two nurses of a private clinic for the death of a woman during delivery due to their negligence.

A tribesman Rashid belonging to Darra Adam Khel informed the cantonment police that he admitted his wife Gulshama Bibi in the clinic of Dr Gulshanara in Chakarkot.

He alleged Dr Gulshanara left the patient by handing over the case to two nurses, Riffat Bibi and Shahnaz, as it was a normal delivery case.

Then the nurses called the doctor from her house who asked him (Rashid) to arrange blood for the patient who had given birth to a male child.

But despite hectic efforts he could not arrange blood in time. The doctor later informed the family that the patient had died.

The cantonment police lodged a case against the lady doctor and nurses but till filing of this report nobody had been arrested.

SHOT DEAD: A woman was killed allegedly by her husband in Bilitang village on Tuesday.

Tarmir, father of the deceased, Naheeda, told the police that his daughter was married to his nephew, Yousaf, a year back. He said in the wee hours on Tuesday he heard a gunshot from the house of his daughter and went there to know what had happened.

He said he found his daughter in pool of blood while his son-in-law, Yousaf, was inside the room who escaped after some time. He told the police he did not know the reason behind the killing. The Bilitang police registered case against the accused and started investigations.

Meanwhile, two boys drowned in the Indus River at Khushalgarh while beating the heat on Tuesday. They were identified as Fahad and Hussain. Their bodies were yet to be recovered.
