PESHAWAR, Dec 19: Students of the Peshawar University boycotted the classes and staged a protest demonstration against the vice-chancellor for the second consecutive day here on Thursday.

The protest rally was organised by Islami Jamiat Tulaba and led by its leaders, Abidur Rehman and Zameer Gul.

The students chanted slogans against the VC and demanded of the government to remove him.

The rally leaders blamed the VC for appointing “incompetent officials” on senior administrative positions.

“The university administration is also involved in financial corruption,” they told the small rally participants.

The IJT leader, Zamir Gul, told Dawn that the VC had appointed an incompetent person as Provost, the all-important administrative position, “which he did not deserve.”
