The dentist was remanded in custody for a single day and produced before the court on completion of the period on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the court remanded into custody two suspected kidnappers of a minor girl.

Hamduallah and Inamullah were arrested a day ago by local police when they raided a house in Regi area and recovered the four-year-old girl, Faiza.

They were charged under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and Section 365-A of Pakistan Penal Code.

An FIR was registered by Yakatoth police station on the complaint of Ibadullah, who said his minor niece was kidnapped by unidentified people, who demanded Rs10 million ransom for her release.

The suspects were produced before the court by the local police who requested that they needed their physical custody for further interrogation in the case. The officials said the arrested men belonged to a gang of kidnappers and other members of the gang could be traced by further investigation.

Merging for what?

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
