I WOULD like to draw the attention of law and order authorities towards the use of firecrackers and firing at weddings in a city like Karachi. They have been on the rise in the last couple of years. As facts and figures indicate, youngsters are mostly found involved in the activity.

People consider it to be a symbol of prosperity irrespective of the fact that such activities are dangerous and create an unwanted noise pollution.

It is a need of the day for the police to take strict measures against all such activities. It is also the parent’s responsibility to keep a check on their children’s activities.
