Renowned Indian actor and wrestler (former Rustam-i-Hind) Dara Singh passed away on July 12 in Mumbai. He was 83. He began his wrestling career from a very young age and earned many titles, including Rustam-i-Hind and Rustam-i-Punjab.

In 1952 Dara Singh entered show business and did his first film, Sangdil, as an actor. He also directed five films and produced two. The last film that he acted in was Jab We Met, in which he played the part of the female protagonist Kareena Kapoor’s grandfather.
