LAHORE, Nov 21: Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has urged the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy president Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan to mobilize people to seek implementation of the resolutions of the Sept 16 all parties conference.

JI leader Maqsood Ahmad delivered a letter on Wednesday to the senior leader here on Wednesday.

The JI had organized the conference which had demanded immediate elections supervised by an interim government.

The government has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of setting up an interim government and that the elections will be held in October next year.

It is said the JI leader has urged the ARD chief to step up the struggle for democracy.

Sources close to the ARD president say the alliance is already working for democracy. The ARD had recently prepared a schedule for Iftar parties.

The ARD president told reporters he had a similarity of thought with the JI amir on issues of democracy and Afghanistan.
