THIS is apropos of the letter ‘Laptops vs oil and gas’ by Neelam Jawad (July 4), saying that both the parties, the PPP and PML-N, have played their tricks prior to the elections to get the people’s support by distributing free laptops and by lowering petroleum prices.

I would like to add that we should actually realise why it is being done just before the elections and why not earlier by the so-called democratic government.

On the other hand, we should recognise Imran Khan’s efforts for the betterment of the country. He has been serving the country for a long time, first by bringing the World Cup and then with some major contributions like Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital and Namal College, etc., for the development of people. If we compare his contributions with other parties who have ever had a chance to run the country, he fairly has got the edge over them because his contributions were totally his personal efforts and not with the people’s wealth.

It is to request the people to think once before going to vote this time. It will bring either one-day relief or five years uproar in return for a better Pakistan for a longer term.
