CHILLAS: A cable car lift installed over the River Indus in Chillas area broke a support wire resulting in the drowning of eight people on Sunday, DawnNews reported.

The cable car fell in the River Indus when one of it’s wires broke and all eight passengers were swept away by the strong river currents.

Efforts to rescue the victims were facing hindrances due to a surge in the waterflow of the river.
