KARACHI: Pakistan’s top two junior cueists – Hunain Aamir and Mohammad Majid Ali – were off to a winning start in the IBSF World under-21 Snooker Championship which commenced in Wuxi, China, on Saturday.

Hunain blanked Omer Ahmad Hashem of the UAE 4-0 in group ‘G’ opener the scores being 59-27, 79-24, 65-24, 67-17 while Majid earned full points when his opponent Alaeddin Wali of Libya failed to turn up for their group ‘C’ fixture.

As many as 62 players from across the world are competing in the annual event. They have been drawn in eight groups.

According to the draws, Majid meets Mitchell Mann of England Sunday morning and China’s Zhu Yinghui in the evening while Hunain faces Sweden’s Belan Sharif in the only match.

The group matches end on July 19.
