KARACHI, July 13: A man was axed to death at his house in a Clifton area on Friday morning, police said.

They said that Munnawar Masih, 40, axed his younger brother Ishaq Masih, 35, to death in their house in Shah Rasool Colony within the remit of the Boat Basin police station.

A duty officer at the Boat Basin police station said that  Ishaq was murdered over some petty issue in the family.

The police claimed to have arrested the murder suspect and recovered the crime weapon, an axe, from his house.

They said that the victim was a tailor by profession while the suspect was a scrap dealer.

A case (FIR 334/2012) was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of Pakistan Penal Code against Munnawar on a complaint of Mushtaq Masih, another brother of the victim, at the Boat Basin police station.

Woman found dead

The body of an unidentified woman was found near the Malir Cantonment area on Friday.

Police said that the body was found at a desolate place in bushes within the remit of the Malir Cantt police station.They said that the woman sustained a head injury and it appeared that she was hit by some sharp-edged weapon.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. Later, it was moved to the Edhi morgue forwant of identification.
