RAWALPINDI, July 12: An ex-army man shot his wife dead on Thursday evening on some disputes, police said.

Mohammad Yousuf developed differences with his wife over some domestic disputes.

After failing to settle disputes with her husband, she knocked the doors of local court for Khullah. On Thursday evening, as the couple left the Cantonment Board’s arbitrator’s office she hired a cab for going her home.

Police said she had just embarked on the taxi her husband followed her and forcibly sat with her and started trying to convince her to go with him and settle the dispute but she refused.

Inspector Karim Niazi said despite repeated attempts by her husband, she did not agree to go with him and finally he got annoyed when she told him that she wanted to marry someone else.

He said on hearing her reply regarding her second marriage, he got provoked and asked her to get out of the cab as he wanted to talk to her.

As she got out of the taxi, he pulled out his pistol and shot and killed her on the spot and managed to escape. The couple had three sons and a daughter.
