LAHORE, July 9: The Punjab government has announced that some representatives of the Guinness World Records will visit the provincial capital shortly to sign a contract with the government to record performances of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012.

This was stated by Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker and Punjab Sports Organising Committee Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed here on Monday after chairing a meeting of officials of the Lahore Division organising committee for the Punjab Youth Festival, National Youth Festival and International Youth Festival 2012.

Also present on the occasion were Punjab Sports Secretary Haroon Ahmed Khan and Punjab Sports Board and Youth Affairs Director General Usman Anwar.Mashhood said 22 countries had confirmed their participation in the Punjab International Youth Festival. “Some representatives of Guinness World Records will visit Lahore shortly to sign a contract with the Punjab government,” he said.

During the meeting instructions were issued to officials to make the festival a big success. Mashhood said the youth festival was going to be the biggest social and sports carnival with participation of people from all walks of life. He praised the idea of the first Punjab Sports Festival, which he said was now being copied by countries like Australia, India and Norway.
