LAHORE: Former Test captain and great batsman Javed Miandad will coach batsmen of both Pakistan under-19 and Pakistan senior team before their participation in their upcoming respective mega events.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has said that he has asked Miandad to coach under-19 batsmen, who will attend the training camp at the Gaddafi Stadium from July 15 as part of their preparations for the World Cup to be held in Australia.

Also, batsmen of the senior team would be coached by the former captain before the World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka in September.

Zaka said that though Miandad had been performing the same duties in some of the previous camps organised for the national team, this time he had been asked to be fully involved with the batsmen.

However, the PCB chief clarified that Miandad would only coach players in Pakistan and wouldn’t be part of the national side as regular batting coach on any tour.
