DADU, June 22: PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that no matter how many prime ministers the PPP government changed it would not write any letter to the Swiss authorities for returning “the looted wealth of the country”.
Addressing a public gathering in Sehwan Sharif, he said that he was a Sindhi like other Sindhis and for that reason he was among them.
He said the PPP government had done nothing for Sindh and called upon the Sindhis to support the PML-N in the coming election because the party would undertake development works in the province.
He said the people of Sindh had given votes to the PPP, but the party had deprived them of even basic rights.
He said that he came to Sehwan from Nawabshah and only saw broken roads because the PPP government had not undertaken any development work in the province.
He said the PML-N would have supported former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani if he had taken action under court orders against the beneficiaries of the NRO.
He said that people had not received any relief during four years of the PPP government and unemployment had increased in the country and the poor were committing suicides.
He said that there were reports that people were paying bribe to PPP leaders to get jobs.
Mr Sharif criticised the government for not completing construction work on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in 15 years and said the PPP government even did not spare Sindhi saints and embezzled money meant for their dargahs (shrines).
He said that he ended dacoit culture in Sindh when he was prime minister, but now the situation had deteriorated so much that people could not travel during the night.
He said that there was no electricity but bills were being sent to people.
Syed Ghous Ali Shah and Liaquat Ali Jatoi also spoke on the occasion.
Mr Sharif also visited the mausoleum of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
