LAHORE, June 21: A rights group on Thursday criticised Unification Bloc MPA Sheikh Allauddin and called for an action against him for using abusive language against women members of the house on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued here, Women’s Action Forum condemned the members who supported Allauddin by thumping desks.

Allaudin split with the PML-Q some time ago and became part of the Unification Bloc, which now sides with the PML-N. “He has history of using derogatory language against women,” says the press release. It said it was a matter of concern that ruling party MPAs and their allies fully supported Allauddin instead of condemning him.

The release said WAF was appalled at Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s silence on the issue.
