KARACHI: The national chess championship will be held in Karachi from July 1, it was announced by the Pakistan Chess Federation.

The event, which will be for both men and women, was supposed to be held in Quetta initially but due to the law and order situation, has been moved to Karachi where it will be held under the supervision of the Sindh Chess Association.

The top five position holders of the championship will qualify for an international chess competition in Turkey.
