THIS is apropos of Khalid Hussain’s letter “Iran’s civil nuclear programme” (June 9), in which he says if nuclear weapons and civil nuclear technologies are the rights of India and Israel, why can’t Iran enrich its uranium for its defence and peaceful purposes?

First, if Iran is enriching its uranium for peaceful power generation, why is Iran not allowing IAEA to visit its sites? Why is Iran doing all the acts of nuclear programme so evasively and secretly?

Why has the IAEA failed to reach a deal with Iran? If Iran is just enriching it for a civil purpose, why doesn’t it give sufficient proofs to the IAEA etc about this?

This can be the best way of making the opposition keep its mouth shut.
